It has been several months that a significant number of our members complain about one of our very special policies. As a matter of fact, a few years ago we banned all types of link protection on our forums in order to tackle phishing attacks that thrive in these services. However, it is becoming clear that this policy is too restrictive because it also makes it impossible to deter unauthorized link harvesting and information collection by robots.

It is in such context that we have therefore decided to amend this rule by adding to it a whitelist of service(s) that we are going to allow on the forums. This whitelist will be composed of not only the services that we believe are of good quality and active towards resolving any kind of issues that may relate to it (phishing attacks, virus proliferation, etc…), but also those that accept to give our staff the necessary tools to avoid any problems of moderation that may emerge in relation to them.

Consequently, the owners of link protection sites willing to have their service whitelisted on our forums will have to get in touch with the administration and bring guarantees such as particular access to the service’s backend. If you agree with such terms, do not hesitate to get in touch with us as we will be happy to welcome your service.

Finally, as many of you have noticed, we have also decided to integrate with the first link protection service that we will authorize, Safelinking.net — a solidly run service. To use this feature, simply paste your links into the “Secure links” field and press the button “Secure and code into post” — your links will automatically get secured and added to your content in the “Message body” field on posting page. Other options are available directly at their site.

NB: This announcement will not be regularly updated as the whitelist may get extended, hence you may have a look at our rule #4.2 which will list the valid and currently allowed services in a timely fashion.

u shud also get these kinds of services to avail such protections bro. i m also an uploader (Earlier) my site was xnyash.blogspot.com i used to upload. (now i have taken out the links )
