This is the Italian language version of “Samson and Hercules in the Land of the Amazons” (aka “Samson in the Amazon’s Land”) which carries the title “Le porno gladiatrici”.
Hercules goes to look for Samson who has been kidnapped by a girl gang and ends up getting screwed along the way (more ways than just one). This is yet another hardcore flick from D’Amato who was only directing these type of movies at this point in his career. The low budget nature makes some of the scenes look very silly but I’m sure many will just be here for the sex, which there is plenty of. The cinematography is good as is usually the case for D’Amato.
Director Joe D’Amato will always be remembered for his horror films like BEYOND THE DARKNESS and ANTROPOPHAGUS as well as his long running Emanuelle series with Laura Gamser. After the Italian horror market dried up, D’Amato had a comeback with the softcore ELEVEN DAYS ELEVEN NIGHTS, which eventually led to the director doing porn titles. The director had previously mixed sex and horror in such titles as PORNO HOLOCAUST and EROTIC NIGHS OF THE LIVING DEAD but those films were a long way off from his later day porn.
