In 1985′s American Babylon, Bobby Astyr and Michael Gaunt play neighbors who gather at Astyr’s insistence to watch porn films and discuss sex, their wives and their mundane lives. The key to this film lies in the title of the final porn film they watch.
American Babylon was the last great adult film to come out of New York. Richard Mahler retired from porn after making it and the other great filmmaker from the Big Apple, Ron Sullivan, moved to Los Angeles in 1986.
