This may not have been what Shakespeare had in mind, but who cares? Robert Bullock and Nina Hartley star as the beleaguered director and his bisexual wife. And Tom Byron is great as the janitor. It’s about a theater troupe doing a production of the classic, against the setbacks of a theater owner who’s plan is to, oddly enough, sell out to “porno movie people,” and a lead actor who’s a little too full of himself. Great classic porn with funny humor, good acting, and great sex.

Joe D’Amato decides to do his version of the classic story only this time we have no sad ending because everyone is too busy having sex. D’Amato has taken several famous stories and turned them into pornos with some having funny results but this one here is just lame and boring. The production is rather ugly, the sex boring and it’s clear the director is bored out of his mind.
Director Joe D’Amato will always be remembered for his horror films like BEYOND THE DARKNESS and ANTROPOPHAGUS as well as his long running Emanuelle series with Laura Gamser. After the Italian horror market dried up, D’Amato had a comeback with the softcore ELEVEN DAYS ELEVEN NIGHTS, which eventually led to the director doing porn titles. The director had previously mixed sex and horror in such titles as PORNO HOLOCAUST and EROTIC NIGHS OF THE LIVING DEAD but those films were a long way off from his later day porn.
