“This is one of the ‘one day wonders’ made for $5,000. for the Gambinos. At this point they were into teenage titles so I came up with Sweet Sixteen. The problem was the available cast wasn’t young enough to remotely resemble the title. When my partner and I screened this picture for Sid Levine, the Gambinos’ front man, he just shook his head and said, ‘Sweet Sixteen?…. You guys should have called this, Life Begins At Forty’. Oh well…”

BETRAYED TEENS is another cheapie roughie helmed by the prolific Shaun Costello. Thin on storyline, heavy on sex, and a pinch of sleaze thrown in make this one a semi-enjoyable if a bit “tired” roughie entry.
Linda is abducted by bikers and her mother contacts a private-dick to find her. Turns out Linda wasn’t abducted at all, but was hanging out with the bikers of her own accord. When the gang realizes that the mother concocted the “abduction” story, they decide to go back with Linda in tow to mess with Linda’s parents …
Lots of goofiness in this one – first off, Linda is played by some French speaking hooker whose heavy accent is played off as a by-product of her going to school in France. The plot is pretty weak and only serves as the barest of threads to hold together the several sex scenes. On the good side – the hardcore scenes are pretty good and erotic, and there is a bit of extra sleaziness towards the end where the gang whips Linda’s mom and forces her to give an inter-racial blowjob, and where Linda decides to go down on her pops as revenge (?!?!?). I don’t know if any of Costello’s films will ever reach the “greatness” achieved by his classics WATER POWER and FORCED ENTRY – but so far, none have come close. Even so – most of Costello’s films have been entertaining and / or arousing – so I’ll continue to check out his works.

This little movie was my first production effort for Teddy and Tom, the Greeks who owned the Capri Theater on Eighth Avenue. They had been making heavy profits showing the one day wonders I had been making for Star Distributors, and now wanted to make their own movies. They could make back their investment playing the picture for two weeks at the Capri and anything after that would be profit. Come Fly With Us was a Stewardess Buddy Movie, and a big hit for the Greeks. Subsequent to this picture I was to make many movies for them between 1974 and 1977, after which they couldn’t afford me.

Carlotta and her male partner are newspaper advertised sex surrogates who make house calls. When a husband who can’t satisfy his wife hires Carlotta, he is surprised by her relaxed casual suggestion to have unprotected oral and anal sex in order to help him. He indeed manages to bring her the orgasm he couldn’t give his wife. Satisfied, he comes clean to his wife and counters her anger by asking her to schedule a session with Carlotta’s male partner. Carlotta is then hired by a whole couple. They too are surprised when she asks them to demonstrate an intercourse, while she first just commentates and then also casually fully joins them. The first wife indeed meets up with Carlotta’s male partner, who quickly suggests having sex with her and even slaps her butt during the act. Later on, the first couple invites a third couple over and can’t help demonstrating on them the new moves the sex surrogates taught them…

Model Mara answers an ad in “Screw” magazine for a high paying job at a New York City whorehouse that specializes in all kinds of kinky sadomasochistic bondage and discipline sex tricks. The bordello’s middle-aged madame shows Mara the ropes (and chains) of the B&D business. Meanwhile, a motley assortment of perverted customers have their wicked carnal way with the hookers who work at the seedy joint.

Dracula Exotica (1981)
Director: Shaun Costello
Starring: Jamie Gillis, Vanessa Del Rio, Samantha Fox, Eric Edwards, Gordon G. Duvall, Denise Sloan, Diana Sloan, Bobby Astyr, Donald Blank, Alba Bonn, Murray Bukofski, Roger Caine, Inez De Falla, Christine De Shaffer, Leigh Hope, Ron Jeremy, Tony Mansfield, Carol Marcoe, Jim Messina, Dave Ruby, Robin Sane, Herschel Savage, Sidney Spade, Marc Valentine, Randy West, Marlene Willoughby, Terry Yule.
Horrified at his causing the death of a young girl, Dracula commits suicide and curses himself to be one of the undead for all time. Unlike Christopher Lee, however, this Dracula prefers to bite his victims in far more erotic places than the neck.
Jamie Gillis stars as Leopold Michael George/Count Dracula. Leopold is having damned himself after raping his lover (in a scene that is both explicit and disturbing), and driving her to suicide. After living in his castle for over 400 years, he decides to do away with his two vampire brides and go to America for a change of lifestyle.
Adding a brilliant supporting role is legend Samantha Fox, who has a unique dual role in Dracula Exotica. She not only portrays Leopold’s lost love, but is also cast in the role of Sally, a spy whom the F.I.B. has assigned to seduce and destroy Count Dracula. In a strange way, Sally’s lethal, predatory sex practices are even more typical of the vampire archetype than the asexual Leopold. Of course, it’s ultimately Sally’s sexual power that brings redemption and satisfaction to Leopold.
Schwartz and Evans (FIONA ON FIRE) combine again for an elaborately mounted film that alternates from drama to comedy and spans four centuries in time. Jamie Gillis is the finest screen Dracula bar none (with the true dimension of the vampire’s sexuality) as he searches through time for lost love Samantha. As a horror film buff, I’ve seen them from Lugosi to Lee to Langell and beyond, and Jamie comes closest to making Bram Stoker proud of his 1897 story. No one can ever top Dwight Frye as Renfield, however, in the 1931 Lugosi DRACULA.
Prince of Darkness Jamie plays Leopold Michael Georgi Count Dracula in love with Surka in 1590. She is driven to suicide by his attention so he takes an eternal oath to find her. The tale moves to modern times with Sally (also Samantha) a dead ringer for Surka. A silly US/USSR espionage plot is thrown in to allow Vanessa to strut her stuff sexually and to provide Edwards with the hilarious role of Big Bird, Chief of Intelligence.
One of the monumental moments in porn is the Bobby Astyr/Samantha Fox lollipop and ‘kiss the snake’ scene. It is funny as all hell clear through to the snuff the Albanian conclusion. Universal appeal abounds for men and women with Vanessa for raunch, Bobby for comedy, Jamie as the quintessential Count and Samantha as the object of Jamie’s sweeping narrative search for true love. A delightfully entertaining sex flick.
